Fawad Khan fans have a reason to beam with pride: after giving his audiences more than their money’s worth by swooning in The Legend of Maula Jatt, he is all set to don two very different avatars in what would appear to be two very exciting crime thrillers. When the gritty realities of Karachi’s mafia power games along with the complex machinations of media politics begin to come alive on the silver screen, sit up for some edge-of-the-seat thrills as the versatile actor stings once more to show what one of Pakistan’s brightest talents can do.
The “Tasveer Festival,” a film festival celebrating South Asian films across the U.S., reports that Fawad has bagged roles in two big films. One is Behind the Scene, which is a drama based on high-stakes media and newsroom politics. This film would witness the inner wars of the media industry, as it is helmed by great filmmakers like Mehreen Jabbar, Sarmad Khoosat, and Mohammad Ali Naqvi. Fawad would be seen in the lead portraying a power struggle, influence from political class, and anarchy inside the newsroom.

Except Behind the Scenes, The Prisoner is also a Karachi-based crime thriller in which Fawad would be seen. The movie is a novel by Umar Shahid based on the city’s mafia in the 1990s, crime, and politics. In this film, Fawad Khan shall be seen essaying the character of a police officer who fights with the mafia gangs ruling the city. This is an action-packed film of high power and tension as it is produced by three Indian women.
Although no date has been set for the release of these movies, it is most probably going to be in 2025 or 2026. Tidbits also begin to circulate that Indian actors might feature in the movie too, but there still hasn’t been any official confirmation about this.
The upcoming movies by Fawad look promising with regard to his skill as an actor, and both the movies are eagerly anticipated within the South Asian film industry. Whether it is Karachi’s mafia or the cutthroat world of media politics, Fawad will surely end up giving performances that their fans will relish.
