Pakistani television actress Komal Mir has publicly responded to intense social media scrutiny over her recent physical appearance, addressing rumors of plastic surgeries and makeup enhancements. The actress, known for her performances in popular dramas, appeared on Ahmed Ali Butt’s podcast, where she candidly opened up about her weight gain, body image pressure, and the criticisms she has faced from both the public and the entertainment industry.
“I swear by God, I haven’t had any procedure. I just gained six kilos in a month and a half,” she clarified during the podcast.

Komal Mir, who once struggled with being underweight, revealed that the decision to gain weight came after constant suggestions from colleagues and the public.
“Everyone told me to put on some weight, even fellow actors. When I finally did it for a role, the same people began criticizing my face and size,” she said, expressing frustration over the double standards.
No Cosmetic Work, Just Natural Change
The actress denied undergoing any plastic surgery or cosmetic treatments, saying that visible changes in her face were purely due to natural weight gain. She even humorously pointed out that her chin area still shows loose flesh, which wouldn’t be possible if she’d had surgery.
Komal explained that she gained around six kilograms in one and a half to two months for a specific acting role. Her altered look quickly became a topic of online discussion, leading to accusations of lip fillers and facial procedures — all of which she denies.
“If I had undergone any procedure, my throat wouldn’t have flesh hanging. Look at the cheeks, but also the chin,” she added.
On the Culture of Cosmetic Enhancements
While defending herself, Komal did not criticize those who choose cosmetic treatments. She shared an observation from a clinic visit where she saw housewives paying large sums for multiple procedures, acknowledging that beauty standards have now influenced not just celebrities but everyday individuals.
“It’s not wrong to go for cosmetic procedures, but I haven’t done anything — yet. Though after this criticism, I’m starting to consider it,” she added with a touch of sarcasm.
Social Media’s Role in Acting Opportunities
Komal Mir also touched on how social media following plays a growing role in securing work in the entertainment industry. She admitted that her follower count has helped her land roles and opened new doors in her acting career.
This conversation adds another layer to the growing debate around body image, social pressure, and the expectation of perfection in Pakistan’s entertainment industry.
