Iffat Omar Reflects on Career, Feminism, and Personal Journey

Recently, veteran Pakistani actress and model Iffat Omar spilled all the beans regarding her life journey on a podcast interview. With her candid self and outspoken views, Iffat shared insights into myriad of subjects starting from top politics issues and feminism to early days in modeling, seeking admission to avoid sibling rivalry, personal relationships, and more.

A Career Gained from Early Beginnings

Iffat Omar’s career started when she was a little girl, and a prominent editorial in one of the city’s top daily newspapers published a photograph of her. She remembers that it was when she was at matriculation level, and asked her parents for permission to model, after which she pursued her career without consulting them. That shot catapulted her to become one of the leading actresses in Pakistan’s show business.

Opinions on Feminism and Politics

A staunch advocate for women’s rights, Iffat stressed the importance of women in decision-making roles. “Freedom and autonomy for women can only be achieved when they hold a majority in parliament and other influential positions,” she remarked.

Politically speaking, Iffat condemned how the previous Pakistani Prime Minister, Imran Khan, divided Pakistani society. Instead, she is quick to tell the world she does not tolerate only one kind of politics against her; others, too have faced her strict stance on certain political figures or policies.

Personal Reflections

Iffat addressed the long-standing rumors regarding her personal life by clarifying that speculation regarding her divorce is baseless. “I have faced rumors, but I know they are part of being in the public eye,” she said.

She also talked about her previous relationships, admitting that she had youthful affairs. “Like many others, I had relationships in my youth. However, they were personal and did not involve public figures, which kept them away from media scrutiny,” she explained.

Marriage and Family

Iffat reminisced about her life with her husband, Omar, whom she knew through mutual friends. Her path from friendship to marriage was assertive as she jokingly claimed to have talked him into marrying her.

A Legacy of Openness

Iffat Omar’s candid expressions of her sentiments underscore her penchant for authenticity. Whether discussing the career or canvassing for a social cause, this woman has constantly been a part of Pakistan’s entertainment industry representing progressive thought along with female power.
