In a recent episode of Jio Podcast, Pakistani actress Minal Khan recently spoke on her marriage, and how things have changed living in the family unit with her twin sister, Aiman Khan. Candidly portraying the personal milestones experienced as well as society’s challenges coupled with complexity she and her very own sister share in their journey toward marriage.
Contrasting Approvals of A Family
A couple of times while on the podcast, Aiman Khan showed just how varying opinions were regarding marriages within the two families of marriage partners. The actress said that Muneeb Butt, an actor, was taken by her father as a son-in-law very graciously. “Since it happened to be our first marriage within both families, it was welcomed with great extravagance,” explained Aiman.
On the other hand, Minal Khan discussed how her own marriage to Ahsan Mohsin Ikram received subtle approval as it was amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. She had received a nod from her father but after his demise, she faced opposition from her mother.
Maternal Objections
Minal Khan confesses candidly that she is in no favor of the mother of hers being okay with the idea of marriage to her boyfriend, Ahsan Mohsin. “Mothers naturally always think cautious about everything,” she says while continuing that the cause behind her mother’s hesitation was concern for their future compatibility.

Over all these objections, Minal Khan shares that with the passage of time, her mother eventually comes to accept and approve of the relationship. She said with a smile, looking back on how in time and by better understanding, changes in family equations can take shape: “Now my mother is all right with my husband.”
Pandemic-Era Challenges
Unlike her sister, Minal Khan didn’t have big celebrations on the wedding day: “It’s subdued, like the pandemic caused it,” said Minal. According to her, “We did fewer ceremonies but no regrets.”
“Intimacy is above grandeur to me, even personal joy,” she noted.
Tasting the Sour Trolling
Both sisters have used the platform to discuss the persistent criticism they face online, especially regarding their physical appearance and weight gain post delivery. “People judge without understanding the complexities of individual health and body types,” Aiman noted.

Minal echoed similar sentiments, underscoring how public figures are often unfairly subjected to societal pressures. “Trolling can be harsh, but we’ve learned to focus on our mental and physical well-being,” she said, advocating for greater sensitivity in public discourse.
