Pakistan and Turkey Call for Ceasefire in Gaza, Reaffirm Support for Palestine

Pakistan and Turkey have jointly called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. During Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s two-day official visit to Ankara, both countries reiterated their unwavering support for the Palestinian people and demanded urgent global action to end the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in the region.

According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized the need for a sovereign Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as its rightful capital.

Ceasefire in Gaza

The Turkish President lauded Pakistan’s consistent and vocal support for Palestine, calling it one of the few countries to have “reacted strongly to the genocide in Gaza.” His statement echoes growing frustration across the Muslim world over the international community’s inaction.

“Pakistan has raised its voice against this injustice without fear. We deeply appreciate this solidarity,” said Erdogan, as quoted by the state media.

Humanitarian Aid Without Barriers

Both leaders strongly emphasized the importance of uninterrupted humanitarian aid to the besieged people of Gaza. With medical supplies, food, and clean water running dangerously low, they urged the international community to set politics aside and prioritize saving lives.

Ceasefire In Gaza

Shehbaz Sharif’s visit comes at a time when global outrage is mounting over the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza. Hospitals are overwhelmed, thousands have been displaced, and civilian casualties continue to rise.

During the trip, the Turkish Defense Minister welcomed Sharif at Ankara Airport. High-level Turkish officials, the Deputy Governor of Ankara, and representatives of the Pak-Turk Cultural Association were also present, highlighting the warmth and strategic depth of the relationship between the two nations.

A Shared Vision for Peace

Pakistan and Turkey have historically shared a close relationship grounded in common values, strategic interests, and cultural ties. Their joint stance on Gaza not only reflects a shared Muslim identity, but also a growing desire among regional powers to shape global discourse on justice and peace.

This latest meeting sends a strong diplomatic message—one that presses for accountability, peace, and the protection of human rights in Palestine.
