A great first innings lead
England could do only 267 in the first innings, mainly because of 89 by Jamie Smith and 52 by Ben Duckett. Pakistan countered with great vigor, and Saud Shakeel batted at a brilliant 134. Sajid Khan took it to 48, and Nauman Ali did 45 to take Pakistan to a very precious lead of 77 runs.
England crumbles in the second innings
England’s second innings was a roller-coaster ride. They were at 24 for 3 and were completely not taking seriously the Pakistani spinners. Sajid Khan and Nauman Ali controlled that innings to limit it to only 112 runs. Nauman took 6 wickets, and Sajid took 4 wickets to ensure victory for Pakistan.

Pakistan started the second innings confidently. Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique opened, but Saim fell early and scored only 8 runs. With only 36 runs needing to be achieved, Shan Masood stepped up, smashing a six to end the game and claimed a thrilling victory on the third day.
Series Overview
This victory ensured that Pakistan was in the driving seat of the three match series, which was even at 1-1 going into this game. While England won the first contest in Multan by an innings and 47 runs, Pakistan levelled the equation with a 152 run win in the second one. Rawalpindi proved to be the perfect ending for a closely contested series.
