The group has demanded an extortion of Rs 5 crore, warning that failure to comply will lead to a violent end similar to that of his friend Baba Siddiqui.

The threat came through a message sent to the Mumbai Traffic Police’s official WhatsApp number. The Bishnoi gang made it clear in their message that Salman should take the warning seriously. If he values his life, they said, he must pay the ransom. Otherwise, he should prepare for dire consequences.

Baba Siddiqui’s murder shook the public on October 12, when members of the Bishnoi gang fatally shot him in Mumbai. Some of the accused shooters were quickly apprehended by the police and confessed to the crime, further confirming the gang’s involvement.
